Feds Fine GM $35 Million For Safety Violations

Today the federal government announced that General Motors will be fined $35 million for failing to recall ignition switch defects sooner.

According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, the automaker has agreed to pay the penalty after going under fire for the delayed recall of 2.6 million vehicles.

GM is also required to make safety and internal changes for its faulty Chevy Cobalts and other models. The defective vehicles lead to 13 deaths.
