I’m always looking for something a little different to write about and I love to eat out.
A friend that I share a hair appointment with told me about her “Supper Club,” a group of young ladies that dine out once a month at a different restaurant.

This was right up my alley; I love to eat out and I always want to try different restaurants—as a matter of fact I would like to be a mystery diner. You might want to watch for that feature in 2015. I digress.
Back to the Supper Club. The club was started by Maisha Howze and monthly each person takes a turn selecting a new restaurant.
There are no dues, no books to read, no notes to take and no meetings to attend; just find a restaurant that each person agrees on, order and eat, each person is responsible for their own meal.
Some of the members of the Supper Club went to high school together and others have known each other for a decade or more.

I was invited to dine with the club on Oct. 26 at Bonefish Grille in Upper St. Clair; this restaurant borders South Hills Village.
The service was good and it seemed that most enjoyed their meal, nothing was sent back. It seems the “Bang-Bang Scrimp” was a big hit and popular appetizer at this restaurant.
This group prefers to go to independent restaurants or, as in the case of Bonefish, a chain that is not a dominant one in the area.

They have dined at Luke Wholeys, Alexander’s and Ditka’s. Each member sang the praises of Ditka’s, saying they loved it.
The ladies enjoyed each other’s company, their meal and had a relaxing afternoon.

They even drew names for their Christmas grab bag; they will take a break in November due to Thanksgiving.
Dining out can be a very enjoyable experience.
You can now view menus and reviews online before eating out, so get together with a group of friends and bon appétit.
