Capes are so dramatic. They swing and sway when you walk, you can drape the cape over one shoulder and some have a collar or a hood increasing the drama.
Capes have been around for hundreds of years. I would imagine they preceded what we currently know as a coat. The cape is easy and you can wrap it around your body and still be fashionable.
At a recent in store fashion show Leah Thomas of a Woman’s Touch (Noble Street, Swissvale PA) featured capes that she designed. She features solids and plaids and teams the capes with smashing hats from her extensive collection of hats. In some cases she makes a matching hat.
The models enjoyed wearing the capes of many colors and the customers were excited to get a custom made garment.
