Good Friday Service
APRIL 3—First Baptist Church of Penn Hills, 7450 Chadwick St., Penn Hills, will host its “Generation 7:31” Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. The evening service will feature seven preachers under the age of 31 preaching for 5-minutes on the 7 Last Words of Jesus. Metropolitan Sings
APRIL 3—Metropolitan Baptist Church, 22-24 Sampsonia St., North Side, will host Metropolitan Sings at 7 p.m. The evening includes the Metropolitan Mass Choir, the Metro Male Chorus, the Metropolitan Youth Choir and Mime Group, and more. APRIL 3—Morningside COGIC, 5173 Dearborn St., Garfield, will host it’s the 7 Last Words of Jesus Good Friday Service at 12 p.m. The Good Friday Service will continue at 7 p.m. with a Feet Washing Ordinance. There will also be a Resurrection Day Observance and Egg Hunt from 12-4 p.m. on April 4 and a Resurrection Day Service with Communion Ordinance at 13:30 a.m. on April 5. Benefit Concert
APRIL 12—The Pittsburgh Church Community will host the “Outpour of Love” Benefit Concert for Rev. Wanda Sawyer at 5 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 2720 Webster Ave., East Liberty. In the fall of 2014, Rev. Sawyer suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. Since then she is recovering but continues to face a great amount of medical bills. This event, hosted by Rev. Bowl for Sickle Cell
