I have a few pet peeves when it comes to men’s clothing. Number one is men who insist on leaving the label on the outer sleeve. Hey guys make a note of this that label should be removed… gently. Do not pull it off snip it off with a pair of scissors. I can’t tell you how tacky this looks.
According to the Modern Gentlemen the label is there for practical reasons and is not a part of the design, no matter how stylish or impressive the label might actually be!
I have always assumed this is one of those ‘unwritten rules’ that everyone just knew. You can see that a lot of men don’t know, especially the man who seldom gets dressed up.
Number two is the man who baths in “smell me good” to the point that you can hardly get your breath.
Depending on the strength of your cologne, use with caution. If your cologne loses it’s scent later in the day, simply reapply. A good rule of thumb is to limit it to two sprays – once on your neck and wrists.
Number three is for neck ties. A man’s tie should always end at the center of his belt buckle. Having a tie that’s too short or too long, can make a man look incompetent.
Final tip please open the vent on your suit jacket. Those stitches are not to stay there they are temporary please remove before you leave the house.
