August 28 and 30 was a powerful weekend for The Lord’s Church (TLC), Niecy Dennis White and the Dennis family.
On Aug. 28, in the grand ballroom of the Omni William Penn Hotel, the TLC Pastoral Installation Gala was held.
This grand evening and weekend had a duel meaning. Just a year ago on Aug. 30, 2014, Niecy Dennis married Curtis White so there was a first anniversary to celebrate. Not only that, but on Aug. 30, at The Lord’s Church in Monroeville, Niecy Dennis White was installed as the church’s pastor.
Her late father, Rev. Archie Dennis Jr., and her mother, Claudette Dennis, founded the Lord’s Church in April of 1986.
Reverend Archie Dennis Jr. died suddenly on Oct. 26, 2001. Reverend Claudette Dennis was later installed as the pastor in July of 2002.
In a prepared statement, Rev. Claudette Dennis said, “I’ve sought the Lord in prayer since my transition in 2002, to cause me to know who would and could take the vision and goals of TLC to the next level of purpose. My daughter Niecy’s name and her work as unto the Lord is clear in my heart and mind. I’m so excited and grateful to be one of the founders and your mother/pastor to position you to take the wings of Jesus and fly.”
The Friday gala included Bobby Dennis as the master of ceremonies, songs of celebration performed by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., CeCe Winans Love, and Angelo and Veronica Petrucci.
During the weekend celebration, The Whites were joined by their Covenant Partners in Purpose: Pastor Alvin and CeCe Winans Love, Bishop Jonathan and Bethany Stewart, and Pastors John and Chelle Tyler.
These couples served as the Whites’ attendants during their wedding last year.
On Aug. 30, Niecy White added a new title to her name, pastor of The Lord’s Church. Pastor Claudette Dennis and Apostle John Eckhardt officiated.
On Oct. 25, Pastor Claudette Dennis will be ordained as Apostolic Overseer. The Lord’s Church is located at 2517 Haymaker Road in Monroeville, Pa.
