Often I watch the news and I wonder what some people are thinking. A few of the stories that stand out are the teachers having affairs with students. How do the teachers even get beyond the fantasy of the affair? I can only think of one teacher that we thought was drop-dead handsome; but he was our teacher and an adult so he was off limits.
When I hear about teachers and students getting busy I am totally confused. The teacher must be so confident that they will never be discovered that they become reckless. Before I do anything now, or before I did anything back in the day, I would try to imagine “what would happen if?” Don’t these teachers who make bad choices play that in their head? If I get with this 15-year-old, I might go to jail and I will lose my job. All that I have worked for will be lost. I went to college for four years just to come to this high school and date a kid.
Why oh why can’t these people meet someone who is 19 or 20? Someone who is out of high school and legal? This is what puzzles me, don’t you know that these kids like to put their whole lives on social media and pretty soon you will be found out and then you will be on the news and you will be without a job and your life will be toast?
I was watching the news the other day and I saw a man who worked, or should I say used to work, at a local juvenile center being escorted in handcuffs. Allegedly he slipped a note to an underage resident. This person works there; doesn’t he know that there are cameras all over the place? Uh oh this just in, “EMT now arrested for having a relationship with a minor that he met on an emergency call.” I believe the emergency tech is now in the Allegheny County Jail. He was found to be sexting with the underage person. Just keeping your job should motivate a person to stop this crazy behavior. Leave these kids alone. Find someone your own age or at least close.
And what are the crooks thinking? Silly me, they aren’t thinking. I’m sure you are stealing to support a drug habit, so I have to ask you to think back to when you weren’t hooked on drugs. Did you ever think how am I going to pay for these drugs when the freebies stop? Or are you stealing just because you can or don’t want to pay for the item you will one day be caught with? Oh no, another news story, “violent purse snatcher will go to jail for 25 years.” Wow, that is a long time Mr. Purse Snatcher. Reportedly this purse snatcher hurt several women while grabbing those purses. He even dragged a pregnant lady across the parking lot. Ladies don’t hold on to that purse; let it go.
Life is not a drama series think before you do.
