On Oct. 25, at The Lords Church (TLC) in Monroeville, the congregation celebrated and rejoiced as Rev. Claudette Dennis, a.k.a. Pastor D, was officially installed as Apostolic Overseer of TLC with Apostle John Eckhardt of Crusaders Church International/Impact Network, Chicago officiating.
Pastor D officially became pastor of TLC on July 7, 2002, after her husband, Rev. Archie Dennis, passed on Oct. 26, 2001. Five days before his death, Pastor Archie Dennis made a prophetic statement from the pulpit of TLC, saying, “God is getting ready to call you out of your comfort zone.”
Whether it meant pastoring, counseling, providing administrative wisdom or whatever her hands found to do, she remained steadfast in serving God until Aug. 30, when Pastor Claudette Dennis, along with Apostle John Eckhardt, installed her daughter, Rev. Niecy Dennis White, as the new pastor of TLC.
The Oct. 25 service included proclamations from all over the globe, video tributes from Rev. T.D. Jakes, tributes and acknowledgements from family and charter members of TLC, and a live musical gift from gospel legend Lady Tramaine Hawkins. The congregation concluded with a dinner celebration at the Monroeville Doubletree. TLC is located at 2517 Haymaker Rd., in Monroeville.
