Awards are decided by a high-powered group of notable automotive designers and educators. Several retired global design leaders from major manufacturers also participate in the judging.
In addition to best production car, Eyes on Design gave out seven additional awards. The categories and winners were:
- Innovative use of color, graphics, and/or materials: Acura Precision Concept
- Best-designed interior: 2017 Lexus LC 500
- Concept truck: Audi h-tron
- Concept car: Buick Avista
- Human machine interface: 2017 Volvo XC 90
- Production truck: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
