After the play we went next door to Meat and Potato. This was a first for sister as well as my brother and me in law. Our goal was to have a drink and an appetizer. It was a little late for dinner and the restaurant was not overly crowded. In order to order our drinks at a table instead of the bar the greeter had to get approval from her manager. Was this really that big of a deal? Our waitress was nice as was the atmosphere. From our vantage point we were able to see what other people were ordering. The meal that caught our eye was the Meat and Potatoes for two it looked like something from the Flintstones. It was a huge piece of meat, actually a 34-ounce rib eye with steak fries and mushrooms. I understand that if you want the meat to be well done you might have a two-hour wait. I can’t imagine ordering a piece of meat that large. I would have to share that with four people instead of two. I think I will go back and when I am in the mood for a full meal instead of an appetizer. Then I can give you my real opinion.
I can’t believe it is already April. This means I only have nine more months of things I have not done and places I have not been. I spotted a few things on line that look real interesting and some of them look like good photo opportunities as well. Using Groupon or Living Social is a good way to go places that you have not been; both programs offer a discount so if the place turns out to be a bust you don’t feel so bad because you saved money on the ticket or the meal.
Here is a note to all of the new groups that are having their first event. Don’t be afraid to ask for coverage. Send me an email at least two weeks before your event. I’m looking for new and interesting.
