Expressway Murder

Officials released information regarding two people who were discovered shot to death inside an SUV early Sunday morning on the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side.
The time of the shooting is recorded as around 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 90/94 near Armitage Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.
According to the Illinois State police, a silver Chevrolet Tahoe stopped in the middle of the expressway, and a male driver and a female passenger were found unresponsive inside.
Both persons were shot in the head. The victims’ ages were not immediately available, according to state police.
A black semi-automatic weapon was found inside the vehicle on the floor on the driver’s side, according to a news release from state police.
The discovery of the vehicle containing the fiction of gunshot wounds to the head had the Kennedy expressway northbound lanes as of 6:30 a.m., near Armitage closed as authorities investigated the incident for about 90 minutes.
Early Sunday morning, a silver SUV stood in the middle of the Kennedy Expressway just north of Armitage Avenue, surrounded by state police squad cars and a tow truck. One of the car’s passenger side windows was shattered.
No other information was immediately available about the incident.
