Rog and Bee Walker use the power of love to fuel storytelling. Their work has led to collaborations with global icons like Beyoncé and LeBron James.
“We generally love to just connect and work with people and tell stories,” says Bee Walker. “But this is really Rog’s point of being able to talk about the communities that we’re part of, and the stories that we’ve lived.”
Their distinct lens will unfold in the heart of Atlanta as the culminating event of adidas’ 2025 HBE (Honoring Black Excellence) initiative, “Honoring Black Excellence (HBE): An Experience Curated by Rog & Bee Walker.” The mission to elevate Black creativity aligned perfectly with the Walkers’ ethos. “It really became a good collaborative experience,” Bee says. “And not just about highlighting stories, but creating a system that consistently feeds and supports artists and narratives.”
The Walkers’ ability to maintain authenticity through photographing and creativity lies in their overall purpose.
“I don’t get hyped up in those moments,” Rog admits. “I’m there to tell the story, make the image, create the artifact that lasts. I’m not here to rub shoulders.”
Bee shares how that integrity comes through in their studio portrait work. “Sometimes people say, ‘Wow, you’re so good at photographing everyday people,’ but for us, everyone is everyone,” she says. “That’s how we think about people, and that’s how we photograph.”
One of their most touching celebrity encounters came during a shoot with Beyoncé. “She called us over,” Bee remembers. “She said she loved seeing how we work together. It was like an Auntie moment. It wasn’t about celebrity—it was human.”
Beyond technique or subject matter, love anchors the Walkers’ creative practice.
“I haven’t gotten enough love growing up,” Rog says honestly. “So I sought to find it, and I sought to give it. Whether it’s honoring someone through the HPE platform or telling a story that uplifts, it’s all about love.”
Bee agrees, noting that even their origin story as collaborators began with romance. “We started out both loving photography, met each other, and just clicked,” she says. “It was fun from the beginning… And that love story is at the core of everything we’ve built.”
Their partnership has produced more than images, it’s generated powerful connections across cultures and communities.
“It wasn’t something that was like an approach,” he explains. “It was something that was a little experience that evolved out, It was all about, like, how do we get what’s happening inside of us out into a space where we didn’t see it around us, and it wasn’t nurtured?”
Through every photograph, project, and portrait, Rog and Bee Walker continue to build a world rooted in dignity and truth. Their artistry reminds us that storytelling isn’t just a creative act—it’s a communal one.
“It’s about making the connection between what people are doing and what’s possible,” Bee says. “And adding to this beautiful tapestry of the human experience.”
