NCAA Basketball Coming To Atlanta’s State Farm Arena

NCAA basketball is coming to Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Oct. 30. In a rematch of the second round of the 2024 Women’s NCAA Tournament, South Carolina and North Carolina will take the court first at 6 p.m. They will be followed by a men’s basketball matchup between the 2025 NCAA No. 1 seed Auburn Tigers and the American Conference Champions Memphis Tigers at 8:30 p.m. 

The Gamecocks and Tar Heels have faced off 22 times, winning 11 games apiece. The Tar Heels finished last season with a 29-8 record, making their 19th Sweet 16 appearance in program history and the second in the past four seasons under Head Coach Courtney Banghart. South Carolina has won three National Championships and nine SEC Tournament Titles under Head Coach Dawn Staley while reaching the Final Four in seven of the last ten tournaments.

Last season, Auburn defeated Memphis 90-76 in the championship game of the 2024 Maui Invitational, bringing their record to 2-1 in the series. Both programs reached the 2025 NCAA Tournament, with Auburn earning a no. 1 seed with a 32-6 record and advanced to the Final Four while Memphis entered as a fifth seed. Auburn’s tournament run included two wins at State Farm Arena, defeating Michigan in the Sweet 16 and Michigan State in the Elite 8. Memphis finished the season with a 29-6 record, earning both the American Conference regular season and tournament titles.
