First Tee — Metro Atlanta Hosts Annual Building Game Changers Golf Classic Presented by Coca-Cola

First Tee — Metro Atlanta is counting down to its annual Building Game Changers Golf Classic, happening Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the historic Piedmont Driving Club. This premier fundraising event brings together business and community leaders to support the organization’s mission of helping young people build character, develop life skills, and learn values through the game of golf.

The event is presented by The Coca-Cola Company, a proud supporter of First Tee — Metro Atlanta since its founding in 1999. Coca-Cola has served as presenting sponsor for over two decades, contributing more than $385,000 since 2017 to make programs accessible to thousands of young people across metro Atlanta.

“Our partnership with Coca-Cola has been instrumental in delivering our mission,” said Jenae Jenkins, Executive Director of First Tee — Metro Atlanta. “Their long-term commitment allows us to reach more young people with high-quality experiences both on and off the golf course — truly building game changers for life.”

“Coca-Cola is proud to support First Tee — Metro Atlanta and the Building Game Changers Golf Classic. Together, we are helping young people build character, develop leadership skills, and create brighter futures through the game of golf,” said Scott Harrison, VP/GM, North America – The McDonald’s Division at The Coca-Cola Company and a Board Member of First Tee — Metro Atlanta.

Problem → Solution → Action

Metro Atlanta’s youth face growing challenges — 31% live in poverty, nearly 12,000 are unhoused, and 4 in 10 report persistent sadness or hopelessness. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for Georgia youth ages 10–14.

First Tee — Metro Atlanta’s programs meet this urgent need by offering a safe, supportive space where young people can build confidence, practice perseverance, and learn to navigate adversity — all while playing a sport that promotes focus, emotional regulation, and community. In 2024, 85 perent of participants reported improved confidence, goal-setting, and resilience — life skills proven to strengthen mental health and lead to better outcomes in school and beyond.

The Building Game Changers Golf Classic funds these year-round efforts, ensuring that every young person — regardless of zip code or financial circumstances — can access transformative programs that help them succeed on and off the course.

Event Highlights
